Love Your Money is a website and online course designed to provide college students with the tools they need to manage their money, understand the financial markets and save and invest wisely.
If I’m a student, how can I use the site?
If you are a student, you can access and complete the online course to learn basic principles and techniques for money management and investing. You may also want to regularly visit the social networking sites linked to the home page for updates and discussion.
If I’m an educator, how can I use the site?
If you are an educator, we invite you to incorporate site content into your lessons on personal finance and to encourage your student to complete the online course. If you are a college administrator or student services worker, you can either incorporate the online course into requirements for your students or encourage them to take the course on a voluntary basis.
Who’s behind loveyourmoney.org?
The site was made possible by a generous grant from the FINRA Investor Education Foundation. The FINRA Investor Education Foundation, established in 2003 by FINRA, supports innovative research and educational projects that give investors the tools and information they need to better understand the markets and the basic principles of saving and investing. Love Your Money is coordinated by The University of Tennessee Extension Department of Family & Consumer Sciences in partnership with The University of Florida, Kansas State University, The University of Kentucky and Mississippi State University.
How was the site developed?
The site was developed by a team of educators from each of the five partnering universities working with web developers and instructional designers from The University of Tennessee, The University of Tennessee Institute of Evaluation and Assessment, Tombras, Inc.(a professional marketing firm) and groups of student interns assigned to Tombras who took major responsibility for designing marketing and creative elements and advising content presentation.
Can I trust this site?
This site was developed by university professors affiliated with five major public universities. Information is research-based and peer-reviewed for accuracy. The fact that no group or individual affiliated with the site sells financial products or services assures that information is unbiased and objectively presented.
